Origins

Born and raised in London, England, Ruby moved to Dallas, Texas in 2002 where she now lives with her husband and 3 children. Her love for the arts was nurtured at home by her mother who sacrificed her own career as an Urdu Poet and Lecturer to stay home and teach her four children Urdu and Arabic, so that one day they would grow to appreciate the wealth and beauty of their own languages, culture and religion. Ruby attributes the motivation behind her current artistic pursuits, to her parent's lifelong dedication to the importance of preserving ones heritage.

Inspiration

Humbled by her audience's appreciation for her ability to merge colors with the aesthetic beauty of these scripts, Ruby continues to strive to express a deeper and more spiritual message. Her fascination with the power of language combined with her artistic flair has manifested itself in a form of expression that embodies not only her love for the arts, but also reflects the strength of her faith.

Vision

Ruby continues to translate her spirituality into works of art that celebrate color, faith, and the elegant and timeless beauty of the ancient scripts. She is thankful for the countless blessings in her life which have enabled her to embark upon a creative and spiritual journey, for which her art is a vehicle.

Nastaʿlīq (also anglicized as Nastaleeq; نستعلیق nastaʿlīq) is one of the main script styles used in writing the Perso-Arabic script, and traditionally the predominant style in Persian calligraphy[1] It was developed in Iran in the 14th and 15th centuries.

Muhaqqaq is a type of calligraphic script in Arabic derived from Thuluth by widening the horizontal sections of the letters in the Thuluth script.
It was abandoned after the 16th century and only a very few panels and a number of Besmeles in Hilyes describing the virtues and qualities of Muhammad are to be found written in this script.
